When you're right you're right.
( He's got no qualms admitting that. )
About being a no-good low-life with a hard-on, not about the boys. Although...
( That part's a joke, which he'll make clear by kindly biting at the skin beneath his lips. Playfully hard, just enough to garner a reaction. )

( He settles in like he belongs; legs out long between Nate's, held comfortably by his knees on either side, probably too much weight settled on top of Nate's chest, and an arm slipping up to curl under one of his shoulders. It's in his top 3 positions, hands down. )
Tell 'em it was that— one weird guy that hits on you real hard every time. What's his name?
( That sure is a shirt blocking his path toward collarbone. He nips at the hem absently, tugging at it with his teeth. )

( Nate can groan as unsexy as he likes as long as he keeps rubbing the back of Ian's neck like that. It momentarily quells the absent tugging of Nate's collar, has him settling down into a position a little more comfortably still on Nate's chest. )
So what you're saying is I should cancel the dinner date I scheduled for tomorrow.
( Honestly... whether they wind up having sex or just laying in the floor (next to a perfectly good couch) all night like this, either one is wildly appealing. Either one is a win. )
Here I was thinking we were in that phase in our relationship where we start joining Swinger clubs.

[Well. Wade’s been privy to quite a few clusterfucks in his long tenure-- most of them caused by him-- but he doesn’t think he’s ever seen one so randomly generated by a simple informational post. Nate’s absence at the apartment is pretty telling-- Wade’s pretty sure that if he were in the same position, he’d be blowing off some steam too. Probably with more explosions, but people have different responses to stress. He only fairly skimmed through the responses on the network, but it doesn’t take a detective to figure out that Nate was burned pretty badly by the responses, and Wade still doesn’t really understand what prompted it.
It’s hard to know what to do. Typically when something upsets him, Wade tends to want to be alone to deal with his thoughts on his own, and past experiences have indicated that Nate doesn’t exactly enjoy people intruding on his personal issues. Still, a simple text couldn’t hurt, could it?]
hey roomie :)

Dude, don't even get me started
you seen the one with that guy Ricardo who committed suicide over his failing medical career and Estella had to live with his ghost?
( Dean may have spent... way too much time... watching telenovelas... )

[The guilt in Nate's voice sears him; cuts right through the anger and the hurt. Who is he to make a big deal about this anyway-- Wade Wilson, the fucking poet laureate of terrible choices and knee-jerk decisions? Hasn't he also tried to fill up the constant voids in his life with inane actions and hare-brained schemes? Next to most of the shit he pulled in his old life, joining the mob is pretty small potatoes. At least Nate didn't accidentally unleash a horde of Venom-infused dinosaurs on a major city or anything like that.
If Nate happens to look Wade's way he'll notice the man visibly wilt; the self-righteous fire in his eyes dimming to something more conciliatory and sympathetic. He stops his pacing around the room, coming over to sit down beside the other man.]
Okay. Okay. Maybe I flew off the handle a little bit there. I know you didn't do it on purpose-- you're not that type of guy.
[He takes a deep breath; lets it out in a sigh. One hand comes up to pinch the bridge of his nose again.]
I guess I was a little selfish too. I mean... we had a good thing going here for a while, y'know? At least, I thought we did. And then your brother shows up and all of a sudden... I dunno. I mean, I get it. He's been with you forever and you thought he was dead, and--
[Wade falls back against the couch, his hands covering his face. His voice is muffled.]
Fuck. I'm so bad at this. Just ignore me, it's fine. You don't gotta explain yourself.

uhhhh I think I might know somebody who would beat the pants off the both of us in that arena
cool. I'll meet you up there in a few
[It's not too long before she shows. She's got all her scars back, all the ones she'd been missing in the Aerie. From the look of things, Nate's are a little different too. She studies his face thoughtfully, then heads over to the railing, near him.
Another day, she might circle around to it. But it's been a long, fucked up day, and she just doesn't have the energy.]
... who did you lose?
[It's soft, and a little too knowing.]

The worst part is that I can't tell if you mean the mobs or the UN. I'm less afraid of the former than the latter. The UN wants to grab power back, especially if they believe they've lost it.
Having more contacts and allies is something we need, especially here. I don't think it's wrong to be afraid for New Amsterdam in light of everything.

[Lance doesn't protest, trying to will some reassurance through the empathy bond while also allowing himself to feel some of Nate's relief along with his own. They don't get many moments to really feel that way.
When Nate does pull away and makes his comments, Lance gives a quiet laugh of his own before asking--]
What are you talking about?
[His tone is laden with clearly feigned innocence, which is not helped at all by the faintly amused smile on his face; he knows he looks terrible, pale and exhausted from spending most of the time since he returned running around nonstop, but he doesn't need to really try to downplay or hide it from Nate and so he doesn't bother. Otherwise, he's mostly back to how he normally looks in this world--from a hoodie to his ridiculous light up sneakers--aside from that a pair of stolen sunglasses are resting on top of his now very curly hair.
But as he does his own brief once-over of Nate, he notices a change immediately, and isn't sure whether or not to mention it. It doesn't take a psychologist to put together what might have prompted it, and he doesn't want to call Nate out on the issue just yet, so he decides to hold off for the moment.
Instead, more generally--]
Probably a loaded question, but... How are you doing? Do you know yet?
[Because he might not, and that's entirely understandable. Saying it's a lot to process is an incredible understatement.]
