[It's late at what would be night when Sam sends the text, and he does it because he can't really sleep. Ever since his chat with Elena, his mind has been racing with memories and thoughts about Avery. It's when he's about to flip through their mother's journal again that he realizes he didn't even tell his brother what his wife had dropped off. So:]

[Nate is conscious, as a matter of fact. He hasn't been agonizing over his recent double-crossing with a certain god regarding a certain robot, but there are bits and pieces that have been scratching at him. Anxiety isn't normally something that keeps him up at night.
