Avoiding the network's big blow-ups is generally how he tries to stay sane, but it does put him at a disadvantage when it comes to being aware of the debates that seize the Displaced. He'd taken one look at the post about making newcomers more comfortable during their detention and decided he didn't have much to say on the subject, and went off to do something else. It doesn't really make sense to him why they can't at least take a walk outside with a chaperone provided they return to the safe house afterward, because in his humble opinion he's not particularly fond of the optics of showing up after traumatic surgery and world-hopping only to be told you can't go anywhere for a few days, trust us, it's fine.
His knowledge of Stephen, however, tells him that this tone is one of brooking no argument and Nate really doesn't want to get into it with anyone today. ]
i'll talk to him. now that i've read the fine print though i do think we should probably revisit the policy in the near future, because i don't totally jive with the methodology.
can you give me your word that we will? i don't want to end up being the middle man every time people get hinky about something.
Lance and I already agreed to revisit it once he had some viable alternatives to offer. Attempting to take children for undiscussed walks didn't appear on any of the lists he never gave me.
Ultimately it's Morningstar's decision while we're reliant on their resources to be able to integrate into this world, but if anyone has a suggestion that might offer greater comfort without jeopardising safety or security in the future I'll be happy to help fine tune it and communicate it to El.
