[Between everything that's happened recently, Nate never really got the chance. He recalls seeing how torn-up Lance was when the Null attacked, but since everybody looked as though they'd gone through a wood chipper, he didn't think to ask about the how. At the time, he'd taken advantage of their relative safety and practically vomited all his relationship issues on the guy.
He could have handled that a lot better. And more gratefully, for that matter.]
